19,782 fans watched an exciting game at Minute Maid Park.  The MUDVILLE NINE
topped the WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
 
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings.  Finally, MUDVILLE prevailed in
the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Chris Carter drew a walk.  One
out later, Carlos Gomez came to bat and banged out a single.  Giancarlo
Stanton then slapped a one-base hit.  MUDVILLE had 9 hits for the afternoon.
 
Dale Thayer(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Ronald Belisario recorded his 5th save.  Brett Myers(0-2) was hit
with the loss in relief.  By surrending 2 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings his ERA
jumped from 1.42 to 3.12.
