BROOKLYN scored 3 runs in the 6th inning. The highlight belonged to Matt
Tolbert who quieted the crowd when he laced a single which was good for two
runs. BROOKLYN banged out 12 hits on the afternoon.
Joe Blanton(4-4) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Pedro Strop
got the save, his 1st. Derek Lowe(2-9) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 7
innings and surrendered 7 hits and 4 walks.

Will Rhymes had 4 hits as the NEW YORK YANKEES staged a dramatic comeback over
the woeful WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS by a score of 6 to 4 at Minute Maid
Park.
NEW YORK came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning plating 3
runs using 4 hits. Rhymes got things going when he smacked a single.
Brandon Laird followed next and he cracked a two-run shot. Derek Jeter then
ripped a base-knock. Juan Pierre was the next batter, but he struck out.
Kyle Seager came up to bat and doubled. NEW YORK had 13 hits for the night
while WISCONSIN had 9.
Colby Lewis(4-3) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Lewis got help

The MEMPHIS REDBIRDS came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 5 to
3.
MEMPHIS had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning with 3 runs on 3
hits. Kelly Johnson led off the inning for MEMPHIS when he was hit by a
pitch. Kevin Youkilis was next and he stroked a single. After an out was
recorded, Nyjer Morgan came to bat and doubled. Brett Myers then let one
slip out of his hand for a wild pitch. After another out, Andy Parrino
stepped up to the plate and he ripped a one-base hit. MEMPHIS had a total of
8 hits for the game.
The victory was credited to Jerry Blevins(1-2) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Myers(0-3) was the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 3 runs in
1 inning and saw his ERA increase from 2.31 to 4.26.
MIKE SWANSON was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough
loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a
terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to
lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin'
on us this afternoon'

MEMPHIS took the lead for keeps in the top of the 5th inning when they came up
with 3 runs on 4 hits. Overall MEMPHIS out-hit WISCONSIN 17 to 6.
Scott Feldman(1-4) got the win allowing 4 runs in 7 innings. Ross
Ohlendorf(2-6) absorbed the loss. He gave up 7 runs in 6 innings of work.
The win by MEMPHIS was very good news as they had been 1-9 of late. Now their
seasonal record improves to 15-35. WISCONSIN continued their losing ways and

winning it in the 10th inning. After two were out Coco Crisp started the
attack as he doubled. Morneau next to the plate and he ripped a base-hit.
Brandon Phillips then cracked a two-run shot. LEXINGTON finished with 12
hits while WISCONSIN ended up with 9.
The victory went to Darren O'Day(2-1) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. O'Day got relief help from Ernesto Frieri who gained credit for his 3rd
save. Livan Hernandez(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief.

the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Chris Carter drew a walk. One
