Ian Kinsler ripped 2 homeruns and Jason Vargas went the distance as the
WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS defeated the SANTURCE CANGREJEROS by a score of 6
to 3 at Minute Maid Park.
 
SANTURCE was unable to climb back into it after WISCONSIN went ahead for good
in the 4th inning plating one baserunner.  Corey Patterson smashed a
solo-shot out of the park.  Two outs later Vargas was a strikeout victim,
unable to help out.  SANTURCE had 10 hits in the game while WISCONSIN had 7,
but WISCONSIN had the more timely hits.  
 
Vargas(1-0) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Max
Scherzer(0-1) took the loss.  He was touched for 5 homeruns in his 8 innings
of work.
