Lance Lynn carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the ALTOONA CURVE
clobbered the outmatched WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS, 12 to 0.
Daniel Descalso was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He smashed a bases-empty
'big-fly' in the 1st inning, laced a one-base hit scoring two baserunners in
the 3rd inning and laced a base-hit in the 9th inning. ALTOONA finished with
18 hits while WISCONSIN ended up with 2.
Lynn(1-0) allowed no runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. The
right-handed Lynn lost his chance for a no-hitter when Jed Lowrie doubled
with one out in the 7th inning. Jason Hammel(0-1) suffered the loss. He was
unable to control the ALTOONA offense and allowed 13 hits and 2 walks in 6
innings.
